Foolish Guarantee and Return Instructions

BookFool.com exists to make your life easier. We know that professors change textbooks at the last minute and classes get dropped. That’s why we offer our Foolish Guarantee. Simply put:

Within 30 days of purchase, if you return your book in the same condition as when we shipped it, we will refund 100% percent of your purchase price and reimburse you $3.99 for return shipping, for any reason! We only ask that you contact us for a Return Authorization before shipping anything back to us.

Here’s how it works:

  1. First contact us through the form above to let us know you need to make a return. It is important to contact us first because we may be able to find a quicker and easier solution than sending the book back.
  2. If we decide together that you need to return it, send it to the address below. Make sure it’s postmarked within 30 days of your purchase from us.
  3. We will process your return and issue a full refund + $3.99 for return shipping.
  4. Always include your return address inside the return package. Some refunds will come through the venue you purchased from (i.e. Amazon, Half.com, etc.) and will go back on your credit card. Some refunds will be made by mailing you a check to cover the amount.
  5. We recommend you purchase delivery confirmation. We can’t be responsible for items lost in the mail.
  6. Use Media Mail from the US Postal Service for cheap, reliable shipping.

The Fine Print (in plain English):

  • Returned items must be postmarked back to us within 30 days of the ship date to qualify.
  • The Foolish Guarantee applies only to books purchased directly from BookFool through BookFool.com or through one of the venues we sell through. The Foolish Guarantee does NOT apply to books purchased from other used sellers. Our site’s Price Comparison feature shows low prices from other sellers so you can compare their prices with ours, but we cannot accept returns for books not purchased through us.
  • To access the Foolish Guarantee, you agree to act in good faith and not abuse this offer.
  • We may choose to limit the number of returns per customer per semester.
  • The return shipping reimbursement is $3.99. Shipping reimbursement on more than one book is $0.99 per book beyond the first one. Ship multiple books in the same package to save money.
  • Do not send books without contacting our Support first. Books sent back without contacting Support may be subject to a 20% restocking fee or may become our property.
  • To be eligible for a refund, books must be in the same condition as when we shipped them to you.
  • Online Access Kits and anything else requiring a code to activate may not be returned once they have been opened.
  • Because of the nature of textbooks and the busy textbook season, returns after 30 days may only be made at BookFool’s discretion and may be subject to a 50% restocking fee.
